In this work we consider the rear conventional suspension of passenger car wheels. Two patterns of spatial suspension mechanisms are proposed. In addition, it is shown that the second pattern is more preferable. This work is aimed at optimizing the kinematic characteristics of the second pattern of the suspension mechanism. The results of optimization are given.
This paper overviews the SimSAC Project, Simulating Aircraft Stability And Control Characteristics for Use in Conceptual It reports on the three major tasks: development of design software, validating the software on benchmark tests and applying the software to design exercises. CEASIOM, the Comp...
An improved independent component regression (M-ICR) algorithm is proposed by constructing joint latent variable (LV) based regressors, and a quantitative statistical analysis procedure is designed using a bootstrap technique for model validation and performance evaluation. First, the drawbacks o...
The choice of supercomputers, by the user community, should not merely be based on the benchmarks. With the advent of supercomputers delivering petaops performance, computationally intensive applications such as brain modeling and energy requirement prediction have become predominant. Conventiona...
Three-dimensional finite element analyses has been carried out using DEFORM 3D software on multi-stage hot forming of railway wheels involving the processes of upsetting, forging, and punching of wheels. Thermal analysis related to heating the blank in furnace and all intermediate heat transfer s...
At present, efforts are made to improve the passenger's thermal comfort inside the vehicle. The thermal comfort level depends on the air conditioning and heating system. The conventional heating systems use the heat excess delivered by the vehicle's engine. Nevertheless, this heat excess is insuf...
Membrane bioreactors (MBRs) have been increasingly used for wastewater treatment in last decade. MBR process has several characteristics such as high sludge retention time, high mixed liquor concentration and accumulation of soluble microbial products. Although activated sludge models (ASMs) have...
The purpose of this paper is to describe the longitudinal dynamics of a hover-capable rigid-winged unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) under various equilibrium flight conditions. The effects of the variable-incidence wing in comparison with the fixed in-incidence wing on the dynamics of UAV are also ...
In recent years, the development of photonic crystal fibers has allowed novel opportunities for enhancing optical amplifier characteristics. In this field, accurate numerical modeling is a significant need to predict the device behavior. Conventional approaches perform this task by using methods ...
Predictive control of systems is very much related to the efficiency and cost of systems, as well as to the quality of systems outcomes. However, it is difficult to achieve optimal predictive control because most predictive controls for systems have characteristics of randomness, strong and compl...
Hydro-pneumatic suspension systems consist of two fluids acting upon each other, usually gas over oil. In these systems, a compressible gas such as nitrogen is used as the springing medium, while a hydraulic fluid is used to convert the pressure to force. One of the problems associated with hydro...
