Similarity criteria describing physical the processes of boiling and condensation of a heat carrier were determined with a model and natural experiments based on the analysis of dimensions of parameters in the heat exchange problem during cooling of a crystallizer by heat pipes. Relationships of the geometrical sizes of heat pipes (diameter, length) were estimated. The novelty of the results is confirmed by patents of invention of catalyst cooling by heat pipes.
Water vapor, cloud, and surface rainfall budgets associated with the landfall of Typhoon Krosa on 6-8 October 2007 are analyzed based on a two-dimensional cloud-resolving model simulation. The model is integrated with imposed zonally-uniform vertical velocity, zonal wind, horizontal temperature, ...

We introduce a novel large-eddy model for cirrus clouds with explicit aerosol and ice microphysics, and validate its central components. A combined Eulerian/Lagrangian approach is used to simulate the formation and evolution of cirrus. While gas and size-resolved aerosol phases are treated over a...
The purpose of this paper is to develop an integrated rotorcraft design and virtual manufacturing framework. The framework consists of two major sub-frameworks which are e-design and virtual manufacturing frameworks. This paper aims to describe the process of generating a specific framework for h...
Based on the predictive control principle and support vector machine theory, this paper presents an intelligent predictive control scheme to solve the control difficulties of industry process with multi-variables. As an example, the rotary kiln calcination is the most important part of cement pro...
To focus on the key scientific problem of process control of dynamic catastrophe of high dams, presented for the first time are the modelling theory of liquid-gas-solid tri-phase coupling of the air-cushion isolation control of high dams and its numerical simulation method, and theoretical descri...
The mathematical modeling of most physical systems, such as aerospace systems, heat processes, telecommunication systems, transmission lines and chemical reactors, results in complex high order models. The complexity of the models imposes a lot of difficulties in analysis, simulation and control ...
The influence of ship emissions on ozone (O3) concentrations in a coastal area (CA) including Busan port, Korea was examined based on a numerical modeling approach during a high O3 episode. The analysis was performed by two sets of simulation scenarios: (1) with ship emissions (e.g., TOTAL case) ...
Recently there has been a lot of effort to model extremes of spatially dependent data. These efforts seem to be divided into two distinct groups: the study of max-stable processes, together with the development of statistical models within this framework; the use of more pragmatic, flexible model...
To quantitatively analyze the main reasons of common crack in the surface of alloy steel ingot with 5% Cr during production and to propose the direction of improvement, a physical model system, which consisted of steel ingot mold, casting, riser of heat insulation, slag layer, sprue pipe, and run...
The analytical modeling of physical processes is an integral part of scientific and technical research. Physical build-and-test procedures used for designing forging dies are prohibitively expensive and result in long lead times in obtaining satisfactory designs. In the present study the wedge te...
