Ensuring the strength and accuracy of large-size waveguide distribution systems of communication satellites

submitted by babmellir2059 2 months ago

The paper proposes analytical and numerical justification of the design and manufacturing efforts in soldering individual elements together to construct large-scale waveguide distribution systems, while ensuring their overall and local strength and allowing for manufacturing errors. We consider conditions, reasons, approaches, definitions and control methods for one of the principal constituents of a complicated state of stress and strain appearing in manufactured sections of waveguide distribution systems of spacecraft.

This work describes the design and implementation of improvements to the monitoring system of an urban waste water network, resulting in more efficient management of the system. To achieve this objective, the latest communications technology has been incorporated into heterogeneous networks and s...

Performance of joint multilevel/AES-LDPCC-CPFSK schemes over wireless sensor networks
submitted by laesboptesto2270 2 years and 5 months ago
In wireless sensor networks, data encryption and channel coding are considered together for ensuring secure and robust communication. In order to achieve this purpose, we introduce a new joint scheme, namely 'Multilevel/Advanced Encryption Standard-Low Density Parity Check Coded-Continuous Phase ...

Fracture Toughness of Heat-Treated Superaustenitic Stainless Steels
submitted by ox451apcndr 2 years and 4 months ago
Cast duplex and superaustenitic stainless steels are attractive alloys for applications that desire high strength and high corrosion resistance. Due to the large amounts of alloying additions present in these systems, a proper solution heat-treatment schedule is critical in ensuring that the allo...

Process algebraic modelling of attentional capture and human electrophysiology in interactive systems
submitted by jaonnolz 2 years and 4 months ago
Previous research has developed a formal methods-based (cognitive-level) model of the Interacting Cognitive Subsystems central engine, with which we have simulated attentional capture in the context of Barnard's key-distractor Attentional Blink task. This model captures core aspects of the alloca...

P1 Plasmid Segregation: Accurate Redistribution by Dynamic Plasmid Pairing and Separation
submitted by eaon 2 years and 3 months ago
Low-copy-number plasmids, such as P1 and F, encode a type Ia partition system (P1par or Fsop) for active segregation of copies to daughter cells. Typical descriptions show a single central plasmid focus dividing and the products moving to the cell quarter regions, ensuring segregation. However, u...

General pain assessment among patients with cancer in an acute care setting: a best practice implementation project
submitted by KonRonnie 1 year and 11 months ago
This project sought to determine improve local practice in managing patients with cancer. It involved by: educating Registered Nurses on the importance of pain assessment, and ensuring this practice is done according to the current best available evidence and monitoring compliance with the audit ...

The AutoI approach for the orchestration of autonomic networks
submitted by googkai 1 year and 10 months ago
Existing services require assurable end-to-end quality of service, security and reliability constraints. Therefore, the networks involved in the transport of the data must cooperate to satisfy those constraints. In a next generation Internet, each of those networks may be managed by different ent...

A mesh-free partition of unity method for diffusion equations on complex domains
submitted by shohraaz 1 year and 10 months ago
We present a numerical method for solving partial differential equations on domains with distinctive complicated geometrical properties. These will be called complex domains. Such domains occur in many real-world applications, for example in geology or engineering. We are, however, particularly i...

Overcoming the rare species modelling paradox: A novel hierarchical framework applied to an Iberian endemic plant
submitted by YairGonz 1 year and 9 months ago
Rare species have restricted geographic ranges, habitat specialization, and/or small population sizes. Datasets on rare species distribution usually have few observations, limited spatial accuracy and lack of valid absences; conversely they provide comprehensive views of species distributions all...

A cognitive collaborative model to improve performance in engineering teams—A study of team outcomes and mental model sharing
