The electrical conductivity of NaF-AlF3-Al2O3 melts with a CaF2 concentration of 5 wt % is measured at a continuously varying cell constant when the molar cryolitic ratio CR = [NaF]/[AlF3] changes from 1.2 to 2. [1, 2]. The experimental data are used to obtain a regression equation to describe the dependence of the electrical conductivity of the melts under study on CR, the alumina content, and temperature {χ] = f(CR, [Al2O3], T)}.

The effect of additives of titanium and molybdenum oxides on the viscosity and electrical conductivity of the Al2O3-CaO-CaF2 oxide-fluoride slag melts at 1750–1950 K is investigated by vibration viscosimetry and the ac bridge method. Crystallization intervals are established depending on the va...

Electrical conductivity of miscibility gap salt systems based on lithium fluoride with alkali metal bromides
The electrical conductivity κ of miscibility gap ionic melts of lithium fluoride with potassium, rubidium, and cesium bromides is measured. The role of the size and temperature factors in migration is discussed for the systems with a predominant Coulomb interaction of particles in the saturation...
Crystal Structure, Charge Transport, and Magnetic Properties of MnSb2Se4
A single phase of MnSb2Se4 was synthesized by combining high-purity elements at 773 K. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction revealed that MnSb2Se4 is isostructural with FeSb2Se4 crystallizing in the monoclinic space group C2/m with a = 13.76 Å, b = 3.965 Å, c = 15.236 Å, β = 115.1°, Z = 4. MnSb2...

The viscosity and electrical conductivity of MnO-SiO2-CaO-Al2O3 slag melts for the largescale smelting of ferrosilicomanganese in RPZ-63 furnaces at PAO Nikol’skii Zavod Ferrosplavov are investigated. Factors responsible for alloy loss are noted, and extraction of the alloy from tailings slag i...
Metal-nonmetal transition in indium-alkali metal and aluminum-alkali metal melts
The electrical resistivities of indium-alkali metal and aluminum-alkali metal melts are calculated. The Ziman theory of the electrical conductivity of metallic melts is shown to successfully describe the experimental effects of an increase in the electrical resistivity during a metal-nonmetal tra...

Simulation of electrical conductivity processes during the metal-to-nonmetal phase transition in melts of systems of lead and gallium with alkali metals
Results of electrical resistivity calculation in melts of systems of lead and gallium with alkali metals are presented. It is shown that the J. A new family of organometallic/inorganic hybrid Langmuir–Blodgett (LB) films, consisting of rigid-rod alkynylplatinum(II)–zinc(II) porphyrinate complex (OMA) as the π-conjugated donor–acceptor-type molecule, molybdophosphoric heteropolyacid and heteropolyacid salt (POM = H3PMo12O40, Na5I...

Thermoelectric and mechanical properties of the Bi0.5Sb1.5Te3 solid solution prepared by melt spinning
This paper reports the preparation and characterization of pressed microcrystalline materials based on a p-type Bi0.5Sb1.5Te3 solid solution produced from a melt-spun powder. We have examined the effect of melt spinning conditions (temperature, disk rotation rate, and purity of the inert gas in t...
Resistance versus temperature and optical radiation in films based on fullerenes and tungsten oxide
In this work, the dependences of electrical resistance on temperature and visible and ultraviolet radiation are given for fullerene-tungsten oxide composite films. It is established that the films are semiconductors and their conductivity is substantially higher than that for films from pure full...
